USCCB Pocket Gospels and Acts

Thought I would give you all a first look at the USCCB's Pocket Gospels and Acts of the Apostles NAB(RE).  It is a really handy little volume, that is modeled after the one our Holy Father distributed a number of weeks back. Here are some photos:

Thanks for the pics Timothy. Are there cross references only (with no notes), or did your sample pic just happen to get a page without notes?

The notes are found in a seperate section at the end of each Biblical book.

Although it lacks the Acts of the Apostles, everyone would be better served to scrounge up copies of THE HOLY GOSPEL OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST with catechetical notes by John E. Roboldo, 3rd edition, St. Paul Editions, 1984 (1963).

It uses the Confraternity translation, contains all four gospels and copious notes drawn from Lapide, Bellino, Gasparri, First Vatican Council, Roman Catechism, etc. It also has beautiful traditional illustrations. It's dimensions are 5.5 x 3.5 and is 1 inch thick.

There are used copies out there. I buy a copy every now and then to give away.

It's a shame they can't publish a Bible without those terrible notes. I'm not looking for 70s era critical bible scholarship in my pocket bible when I'm on the bus or evangelizing people out and about.
