Peter Williamson on "The Catholic Next Door"

Dr. Peter Williamson, of Sacred Heart Major Seminary, was recently on "The Catholic Next Door" program on SiriusXM 129 (The Catholic Channel) talking about the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture series. You can hear the interview here.

Thanks for posting this. I heard it the other night and enjoyed it. At one point, Peter said that if you went through one of the books (I think it was Ephesians) carefully, like a study, that you would get more information than most seminarians get. What do you think that claim was about?

Hans,

I have been blessed to have Dr. Williamson as a teacher for at least three seminary classes. Even with the three hours of class time a week, it is still very difficult to cover every single aspect and verse of a particular book or letter. I actually took a course he taught that spent the whole semester on Ephesians, Colossians, and Philemon. While we were able to get into some considerable depth, there was still a lot more that we had to leave behind. His commentary on Ephesians reminds me often of that class, but it also has additional information to fill in many of the gaps, particularly in regards to those "Living Tradition" sections and the included footnotes.

Tim,

It's wonderful to hear that these books will provide that level of information. I was recently gifted with a couple of these, and am looking forward to starting!

Peace,
Hans
