When he drags around and slams the brand new Bible down on the picnic table at approx :30 to :45 I die a little inside

You know. I want to buy this Bible badly. I love what it has to offer. I love everything I have seen and read about it. However, I really, really wish I could phone someone at Oxford Press and ask them why they chose BONDED LEATHER when they wrap their RSV and NRSV study bibles in genuine leather! Really, is there somewhere one can write to voice complaints, or at least vent?

Sorry. Just very, very frustrating to me.

Steve,

It is inexplicable! The price is way too high for bonded leather. Perhaps they think that most Catholics won't know the difference. I wonder if they are right......

If this study Bible was $50 or $60, I wouldn't complain about the bonded leather. But this Bible ain't priced at $50 or $60!

Ugh.

This Bible is $62.10 on Amazon and if you have 'prime' you get free shipping.

For $62, you really should get free shipping even without Amazon Prime. Any order for more than $49 qualifies for free shipping.

The reviewer expresses surprise that it's bonded, not real, leather for the price. You can tell he's not Catholic. He doesn't know it's a mortal sin to publish a nice Catholic bible. Has been since Vatican II. I o have a couple real- thick- leather bound Confraternity versions, from Catholic Book Publishers nonetheless, but I hear the purveyors of those were sentenced to 100 years on Devils Island. -- Peter Brennan

I have ordered a copy of the leather edition from Amazon.in for Rs. 4954.74 / USD 74.19, including shipping costs.

I too agree with all that Oxford should have made available the Bible in genuine leather; I hope they read all the reviews.

God bless.
