Didache Bible Leather Edition Update
Thanks to Eric, we now know that the reason the leather edition of the Didache Bible has been dropped from the Ignatius website is due to an issue with the printers. A representative from Igantius wrote Eric to tell him: "Due to an unforeseen printing issue, the leather edition of The Didache Bible will not be available for several months." We will have to wait and see how long this delay will be. The hardcover, presumably, will still be available in December.

I find this highly disappointing, especially since I have never been a fan of hardcover bibles. I guess I will just have to have some patience waiting for this to come out.
Hardcover it is then! This is actually my preference, since the hardcover sits on the shelf and stays open better. I would rather have the gold edges, but not a big deal. I will be adding my own ribbons, probably at least 4 of different colors!
One day I hope Ignatius sees the need for a quality control manager, as well as a proper design manager for its Bibles, and a decent marketing coordinator. They are so frequently in their own way when it comes to big projects like this one and the ICSB.

When I visited this blog and saw the Didache Bible I thought that this Didache Bible had a connection with the Dicache. Then I visited the ignatius web page and saw that is the RSV, SCE, and the word didache is used maybe in the sense of teaching, doctrine, but the teaching and doctrine of the actual Catechism.
If there is not a connection between both, the RSV SCE and the Didache, but the name, then I think that maybe the History of the Church means nothing today.
Maybe tomorrow we will have the Genesis Bible, ans so on.

MIDWEST theological forum, which is co-publishing this has a high school series of textbooks known as the Didache series. I am guessing that is the reason for the title, along with what you said above.

The Ignatius site now advertises a January 2015 publication for the hardback Didache Bible. Until January, when it will be bumped to March, or May . . .

I really dislike the paper in the new Ignatius Study Bible, New Testament, with commentary by Scott Hahn, et al. In fact, I dislike it so much that I'm sticking with the separate volumes. It is heavy and unwieldy. Please use finer paper. Then you can easily get both OT and NT in one volume. Other publication houses do it all the time with huge success. I'm going to wait for the leatherbound Didache Bible, but I surely hope it's not on the same paper....
I wanted all to know that I spoke with MTS who is putting out this great bible, and I found some interesting information.
1. The leather is bonded hard back. "I was informed that the reason is so people can put it on their bookshelf, which to me defeats the purpose of even publishing a bible"
2. The leather will be GREEN not burgundy!!!
3. The paper is going to be white, not cream like I was hoping.
4. Midwest will have the RSV Didache leather ready to ship at the end of this month for $64.50

Still no soft leather cover edition. It's either hardcover or bonded leather (which is basically a hardcover with padding on top). Bummer.
