I bought the leather Didache Bible RSV-2CE at my local Catholic bookstore a couple of days ago. It is a green slightly padded bonded leather over boards. It actually feels pretty good in the hand while reading. Of course it has the gold gilt page edges (which looks nice on this Bible) and two ribbon markers (one green and one gold), but the big thing I noticed was that the print is darker than my hardcover version. This to me is worth the price difference alone!
It has been a year since I sent my first Bible to Leonard's, so I decided I would send one more this year. It was between the Catholic Study Bible and the Didache Bible, I lost sleep over this choice :-) but in the end I sent the Didache Bible for rebinding in pebble grain cowhide leather (forest green). Now the long wait...

In the pictures it looks dark brown! No truth in advertising, ha?
I should've said it was dark brown "when I ordered it" because I pre-ordered in April.
I think the dark maroon one you are referring to is the NABRE. I could be wrong though.
Leather over boards? Oi vey...Had I known I would have ordered it in hardback and bought a nice leather cover.
