Tim, did you get a free advance copy from the publisher? (If so, that's great, but you should probably mention it -- FTC rules and all.)
Both Amazon and Ignatius claim the book won't be released until Thursday. Amazon claims my copy should be here by Monday next week. The Kindle edition is being embargoed until Tuesday next week.
Oh, good! I shall have to order it soon -- perhaps next paycheck, if gas doesn't go further up! In the meantime, I think it'll read the first volume again. I do like the Pope of Rome Dr. Benedict, you know. ;-)
(P.S.: Word Verification of the Day: "curas," which is a Spanish colloquialism for "priests"!)
It is interesting to me how much thicker the Ignatius volume is than the Doubleday volume, even though they contain approximately the same number of pages.
I'm looking forward to your "online bookclub reading" of this volume -- when were you thinking of starting that?
It really is! What do you think of the print? I personally like it.
As for the online bookclub reading, I hope to start sometime next week. I am going to spend some time today reading it. Work has been busy and the baby has the flu, so free time has been premium as of late.
I must say, the covers of these "Jesus" books are true eye candy.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the discussion to be had concerning the book over the next few weeks as it may enhance my later reading of the book.

Theophrastus,
ReplyDeleteNo, it is not a review copy.
Esteban,
It is nice to see that you view the current Bishop of Rome favorably. You share the same view as our friend Fr. Jorgenson at SHMS.
May I ask -- how did you get it earlier than the rest of us?
ReplyDeleteBarnes and Nobel is taking it's sweet time shipping mine. I guess I'll have to wait.
ReplyDeleteTheophrastus,
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who owns a Catholic book store.

It is clear to me that in terms of bookmaking, Ignatius did a better job than Doubleday with these two volumes. This volume is a pleasure to read.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Gianna Maria's flu -- I hope she gets better soon.
